For our latest collaboration, we have teamed up with interior designer Libbey Nivakoff (also known as @followthatdesigner). At 12|12, we have been following Libbey for years for her enviable design aesthetic. She creates spaces that are “intended to be beautiful as well as lived-in and functional”, an approach that certainly speaks to us as a company that strives to make better children’s basics. 

The uber-versatile “Convertible Pareo” can be used as a women’s wrap, beach blanket or even a kid’s towel in a pinch. Each piece in the collection is made of 100% organic cotton muslin, which Libbey notes is “perfect for resort since it packs well and isn’t fussy”. Sustainability is also a key aspect of her design approach (which has a particular focus on antiques), so it was important to her to use only organic natural materials in this assortment. The singular print that appears in each piece was inspired by color swatches frequently used in interior design. It lends a joyful pop of color to the styles and ties the whole collection together. In selecting the colors, Libbey chose watercolor tones that make for “an easy wearable print that both women and children can appreciate and that will mix well with any clothing you already have in your closet.
